Last updated July 14, 2014| Alvin & Pauline were married in Red lake Co, MN. They lived in Red Lake Co, most of their married life, with an exception of a few years in the Twin Valley, MN area. There was lots of sickness in the family. Alvin worked on the railroad until he fell and his arm landed under the train as it was moving. This was in 1929 or 1930. He was offered a life time job or $1000.00. He took the money and bought a cream station, but this was in the depression, so it didn't work out. He then worked for the City of Plummer as assessor, doing other things for the city and mowed roads for the County. Pauline died in 1964, Alvin married Mabel Emstad a childhood friend. They lived in Plummer, Mabel died in 1975. Alvin lived in Plummer, except for a few days in a nursing home in red Lake, MN before his death. |
