Notes for Matilda Malvina Ballard

General Note
In the History of Iowa county, English Township there is mention of a Martin Ballard who came from Illinois and in 1843 settled on the northwest quarter of section 30. He went to Nebraska about 12 years ago and now lives in Blair, NE where he is engaged in the practice of law. He built the first steam saw mill in English township at Millersburg. He preached the gospel, pleaded law, filled in the office of justice school fund commissioner, operated a steam saw mill, lost his wife and married again, was postmaster, juror and township trustee, all while he lived in the township of English.

I would assume this person is possibly related to Matilda.
