From the newspaper:

CARD OF THANKS

A big thank you to all the kind

and thoughtful folks that sent

cards and memorials in mem-

ory of Frieda. I am so sorry

some of the givers forgot to put

their names on them or the

cards got mixed up some way.

This seems to be the only way I

can say thanks to some of them

so I hope you folks see or hear of

A person knew for a year that

this sad day was coming and

everyone was very kind, hoping

it might make her feel a little

better. After this sad day is

over, as people shake your hand

and say “I know how you feel,”

you wonder is it going to be that

hard to forget? You can never

really imagine how lonesome its

going to be until you come home

and find no light in the window.

Or that sickening lonesome

feeling knowing she will never

be there again with the light on

for you.

I am lucky I have my aunts

and so many friends to talk to.

The only thing I can look

forward to is that maybe time

will help me to forget. We just

don’t know or even stop to think

how much we really are going to

miss someone till they are taken

away from us.

So all I can say is I hope this

little word of thanks is seen by

all of you and I hope it never

looks as black up ahead for you

as it does to me this morning.

Thanks to all of you again.

Vivian Fritz
